Bachata Info

Join us for our weekly Bachata classes in Southampton, currently every Friday. The venue is Covid secure and we make your safety our priority.

Whether you are a solo dancer or have a partner, we can cater for you. Please note: Partner dancing can only be for those from the same household or support bubble.

At Salsa Southampton, we teach both the ‘Moderno’ style, which typically adapts some of the salsa style turn patterns, as well as the ‘Sensual’ style, which has beautiful fluid body movements.

Please note all classes & courses must be booked in advance.

Absolute Beginners:

We assume you know nothing, but will get you dancing this beautiful dance in no time!

Due to current restrictions, we do not currently know when our next 4-week Bachata beginners course will start. For the time being, please register your interest by email or phone.

As we have limited time slots for all our classes, our next scheduled Bachata beginners course will be timetabled according to demand. If you are interested in learning Bachata, please email or phone us to register your interest so we can programme the next course.

Other Levels:

Level 2  – partnerwork and solo classes currently at 7.30pm on Fridays.

Unfortunately we have no Level 3 timetabled. If you are interested, please email us and we can assess if there is sufficient demand and then timetable this into the schedule.

No Partner?

You can still attend classes and learn your role in the partnerwork moves. We have had solo dancers in adjacent dance pods ‘lead & follow’ each other from a distance. In the booking system you need to select a SOLO ticket for a partnerwork class. NOTE: the relevant ticket will say it is a group ticket for 2 so that it automatically takes up a couple’s dance pod, so that we can’t oversell the spaces. Please put my details as the 2nd attendee (as instructed).
